Core to our range of student violins is the “Primavera”, which in our opinion is the best and most consistently reliable entry level instrument in today’s market. The Primavera is known and trusted by teachers and educationalists throughout the UK.
Most Student violas are supplied with low quality “factory strings” We strongly recommend the fitting of new strings to all new instruments, and most teachers will demand this.
Our in-house Luthier will do this before supply and, at the same time fit the bridge and check the set up. (Bridge seating and height), adjusting as necessary.
We recommend fitting either D'Addario Prelude or Thomastik Dominant strings. These nylon core strings are slightly more expensive than many steel core strings but are the most widely used by both amateurs and professionals and in less experienced hands will sound less harsh and give better tone.
We charge a minimum for this work when done on new instruments. (Essentially the price of the strings) You could expect to pay double this price if done elsewhere or at a later date. Please contact us to quote if other strings are preferred.
